Riverview Raiders Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-1 loss to Laurel on Wednesday. Laurel scored on a single by K Ruperto, a walk by M Boyd, and a walk by F Duddy in the first inning.

The Riverview Raiders Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Laurel, giving up 16 runs in four innings.

Laurel scored eight runs in the fourth inning. Laurel big bats were led by Boyd, A Miller, O Lombardo, and B Atkins, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Ruperto pitched Laurel to victory. She surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Alyssa Cappa took the loss for Riverview Raiders Varsity. She allowed eight hits and 15 runs over three innings, striking out four.

Atkins went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Laurel in hits.
