Lady Raiders knew from our last match-up against Freeport it was not going to be an easy task…52-0

Extremely, extremely proud of the 8th graders battle against a well skilled team. Snaps go out to a Freeport player #10 Maycee scoring 19 of Freeport’s 44 points. Alway celebrate women shining in this beautiful game. She was a joy to watch but was a handful for our Lady Raiders.

Many of Freeport’s points came from transition and I as a coach own that one ….I have not taught until they have learned.

MOST IMPORTANT SHINE……our BENCH which were all 7th graders: Isabel Chapparro, Sienna Daley, Lana Lynch and Mylie Davis.

What a coach needs from their bench:
1. Be attentive
2. Be involved and learn all you can
3. Be encouraging to your teammates
4. Sit near coach (hard to do now 6’ apart 🙁
5. Think about what you would do if your in the game
6. Apply what you have learned to the court

7th graders you ROCKED yesterday! You shined against the hardest team we faced this season. Constantly encouraging your teammates, engaging, listening and then applying what we talked about on the bench. You have control to bring energy or take energy from any situation you encounter . Thank you ladies for bringing “The Fire!”

Scorers:
Katerina Tsambis 3 points
Lily Bauer 2 points

In sweet swishes,

Coach Jill
